Weddings
& Honeymoons Abroad is a UK based Co-ordination Company boasting
nearly 50 years of collective experience of arranging weddings and
honeymoons for couples wishing to marry or honeymoon abroad. We are
now reputed as one of the most experienced and sought after companies
in this very specialised area of travel.
Will
our marriage be recognised in the UK?
Yes,
all our weddings are recognised by UK law. However, it will not be
possible to register your marriage in the UK as this can only happen
in the place in which the marriage is solemnised. This has no
negative impact on your legal status. In some instances it is
possible to keep a record of the wedding at the General Registrar's
Office in Southport - Tel: 0151 471 4200.
Is
it possible to invite guests to my wedding?
Yes.
As getting married abroad is becoming increasingly popular, the
average wedding party size in getting larger each year. Simply let us
know how many people you are inviting and we can work out the best
deals for them. In some cases everybody stays in the same hotel and
in other cases the party is scattered in close proximity to the
couples' accommodation or wedding venue. Unlike when you are going on
holiday with friends, when you travel with family there is usually a
wide range of requirements do to different tastes, interests and age
group - unlike when you go on holiday with friends when you usually
have the same taste/interests etc. We also understand that you and
your guests may not have previously visited the destination. We
therefore offer impartial advice to you and your guests, ensuring
what everybody books is personally suited to their own requirements
and, of course, budget! Our advice is based on many years experience
and you can always speak to a member of staff who has been there -
wherever "there" is!
Larger
parties will need certain additional items such as a larger wedding
cake, extra flowers/photographs, additional transportation etc. etc..
Guests are not obliged to book their travel arrangements through
Weddings & Honeymoons Abroad (especially if you are booking your
wedding on a "wedding only" basis. In some instances it is
highly recommended that we arrange all travel and accommodation as we
are then in total control of your wedding. Remember, we can only be
responsible for our own clients and co-ordinate guests who book with us.
How
do we transport our wedding outfits?
Although
we are advised by our airlines that outfits should be packed in a
hard backed suitcase, some smaller outfits may occasionally be
carried on the aircraft as hand luggage. This will be dependent upon
the airline, the size of the item/s and the space available on the
day of travel. We will be able to advise regarding your specific
airline's policy at the time of booking. We do offer suit carriers
and dress carriers for £25.00 each + p&p which are allowed

Can
we have our outfits pressed at our destination.
This
is usually arranged through your hotel. If you are travelling to a
warm climate, you will find that most creases will drop out due to
the temperature and natural himidity levels.
Am
I guided through all
of
the paperwork?
Yes.
Weddings & Honeymoons Abroad has procedures in place to make any
paperwork as stress-free as possible. In some instances there will be
certain documents which will need to be signed at your destination.
You will have guidance and/or detailed instructions of what is
required. Unlike with some other companies, at no time will you be
looking at each other and thinking, "what do we do now?".
Are
you the Weddings & Honeymoons Abroad regularly featured on
television, radio and in the press?
Yes.
Weddings & Honeymoons Abroad is a consultant to the media on all
aspects of getting married and honeymooning abroad. We have been
featured on GMTV, This Morning, Sky News, ITN, The Great Escape,
Fasten Your Seatbelt!, Channel 5 News, News at Ten, numerous regional
BBC radio stations, OK!, Hello!, The Times/Sunday Times, Daily
Express, LBC with Ann Diamond, Cosmopolitan, most bridal magazines
and others. We have to add that all publicity was for the right reasons!!
Can
we choose our own music for our ceremony?
At
most venues, there is some kind of facility to play your own music.
This may vary from cd to tape cassette. If you would like to play
your own music, we will be able to inform you at the time of booking
how the music should be provided.
Do
we need to carry all legal documents with us?
Yes.
It is vital that you take all ORIGINAL documents with you. However,
we will supply you with a checklist to avoid any mistakes!
Can
I arrange for my hair and make-up to be done?
Yes.
This will vary depending on your chosen destination/hotel. Most
hotels have facilities but they will be able to recommend nearby
salons which will be able to assist. If you have a specific style in
mind, send us a picture and we will send it to our Co-ordinator in
your chosen destination who will come back to us within 48 hours with
an answer and cost.
As
many of our hotels boast spas, arrangements for your hair, make-up,
various massages, hydrotherapy, thalassotherapy and many other
treatments will be available for you and any guests before and on the
day of your wedding.
How
different are you to a travel agent?
The
only similarity between Weddings & Honeymoons Abroad and your
local travel agent should be the cost. We do not arrange holidays on
their own - every client who books with us are travelling for very
special reasons and not just their annual holiday, e.g. while your
Consultant is putting the finishing touches to your wedding before
you travel, he/she will not have somebody holding for them on another
line for a cheap flight to Tenerife.....We endeavour to offer the
high level of service possible at all times and understand that you
are booking the most important holiday you are ever likely to take
and not simply an ordinary annual holiday. In most cases, our clients
will be spending more with us than they would spend on their annual
holiday, so we understand how important it is that you book the right
thing. Booking your wedding and honeymoon should be an exciting and
wonderful time - not a hazardous journey into the unknown.
