WEDDINGS
& HONEYMOONS
Arrive
on Mauritius to be married or for your honeymon and behold the miles
of quiet, inspoilt beaches to be strolled...the tranquil lagoons to
bathe in...the affection for lovers that Mauritians hold in their
hearts. You'll know immediately that you've chosen one of the world's
most idyllic places for the most romantic occasion of your life.
TO
HAVE AND TO HOLD...
IN
TROPICAL PARADISE
To
decide to marry somewhere exotic as Mauritius is truly thrilling and
to ensure you enjoy the euphoria of your forthcoming celebration, a
dedicated team in the UK will help you plan your wedding.
You
may opt to have the simplest of beach ceremonies with two local
witnesses, or you may want something more elaborate with guests who
have joined you for the occasion. Whatever your dream wedding, we
will guarantee that it will be the only wedding on the day at your
chosen hotel. Weddings are held five days a week, Monday to Friday
except public holidays. As your wedding is such a special event, we
suggest you make it all the more memorable by treating yourself to
World Traveller Plus, Club or First Class flights and upgrading to a
suite in your hotel. And why not opt for a stylish helicopter
transfer available to some of our hotels.
CLIMATE
The
best time for your wedding is late afternoon because it is cooler.
The light at this time of day is also better for photographs and you
can take advantage of a romantic sunset backdrop. Bear in mind the
sub-tropical climate when choosing your wedding outfits, and ensure
they are packed professionally in hard suitcases. Facilities for
pressing are available at your hotel. Please also be aware that your
outfits make up part of your baggage allowance and that some airlines
make an excess baggage charge.#
AND
DON'T FORGET
Before
your wedding day, you will need to visit Port Louis to sign
affidavits. Please set aside a day to do this - private transport to
do this is complimentary. Once you've said "I do" in
Mauritius, your wedding certificate is valid under British law and
you needn't register your marriage on your return. Oh - and remember
to pack the rings!
FROM
THIS DAY FORWARD...
A
BLISSFUL HONEYMOON
All
couples honeymooning at our hand-selected resorts - regardless of
where you marry - will receive exotic fruit and a half bottle of
Champagne in their room**.

THE
RESORTS
Of
all our stunning beach resorts, Weddings & Honeymoons Abroad
highly recommends Trou Aux Biches as it is perhaps the most romantic
resort with its lovely gardens.
The
Dinarobin is also a wonderful setting and you can have its famous
Martello Tower decorated for your ceremony according to your personal specifications.
DISCOUNTS
Those
who choose the Dinarobin, Paradis, Trou Aux Biches or Shandrani for
their wedding will save 40% on the bride's accommodation or 25% at Le
Victoria, Le Canonnier and Le Mauricia*. To qualify, you must stay in
the resort for a minimum of seven nights. Discounts are also
available for guests who join the bride and groom for their special
day at the same hotel.
THE
WEDDING
On
arrival at your wedding hotel - this has to be three days before
your wedding day - your wedding co-ordinator will meet you to discuss
and agree any specific requirements you may have and finalise every
last detail of your wedding from your flowers to your reception. For
example, you can choose a colour theme and arrange a video or live
musicians. Your wedding co-ordinator will also help you organise your
flowers, a photographer, a manicure, wedding make-up and a
hair-dressing appointment if you wish (and that's just for the
groom!). Please remember to bring a tape recording of any music you
wish to have played.
You
will be shown around the resort so that you can choose the location
for your ceremony - some resorts, such as Trou Aux Biches, have
particularly beautiful gardens that are ideal for ceremonies.
