Information on getting
married in an Anglican church on Mauritius
The
following documents are required and the following conditions apply.
Documents
(2 copies each):
1.
Birth certificates.
2.
Certificate from their home town hall that they are not married.
3.
Certificate of baptism (both partners).
4.
Certificate from the civil wedding which has already been performed.
CONDITIONS
1.
Divorced persons cannot be married.
2.
A translator is needed if the guests do not speak fluently either
English or French.
3.
2 visits to the church are needed before the day of the wedding. One
is for a chat with the priest and the other is for the rehearsal.
4.
Weddings can be performed Monday through Friday but not during the
40 day period of fasting before Easter.
5.
The wedding would take about one hour and is usually performed in
the afternoon. 16.00 - 16.30 would be a good time.
6.
The customers should be of Anglican faith although Catholic/Anglican
is possible. |
